Dear SBAN Family,
At SBAN, we have a vision that generations of community-conscious leaders from diverse backgrounds whose commitment to education, social justice, and youth development will achieve equity for all.  One of the most important ways we work to accomplish this vision is by encouraging alumni to actively participate in local alumni communities.  These communities create vital relationships among alumni from different years and programs and reestablishes a connection between alumni and existing SB/BT sites.

SBAN Alumni Communities Update - Metro D.C. Meet 'n' Greet

Thanks to all who came out for the SBAN Metro DC Meet 'n' Greet on March 5th at Teaism.   What a great afternoon of sharing Summerbridge/Breakthrough memories and stories!  SBAN Metro DC has some great energy and we are looking forward to working with each and every one of you to build our group.  We encourage you to sign up to be an SBAN volunteer by clicking here. In the coming months, we will be reaching out to everyone for their opinions on future events.

Best wishes and congrats go to SBAN Metro DC co-chair Farish Sawyer, who will be stepping down from her position at the end of the month.  Farish is leaving DC to become the program director of Breakthrough Philadelphia.  We thank Farish for her hardwork in getting SBAN Metro DC off the ground and wish her the best in her new Summerbridge/Breakthrough endeavors!

SBAN Metro DC would like to welcome Jessica Heard as our new co-chair.  Jessica is a five-year veteran of Summerbridge/Breakthrough and currently is working at  KIPP Key Academy in Washington, DC.  Be sure to visit the SBAN Metro DC webpage to learn more!

Club 12 Update
Since we lauched Club 12, alumni from across the network have joined to support SBAN in our mission to provide valuable resources to alumni and to SB/BT programs.  According to our trusty Spirit Stick, we are getting closer to our goal of 500 active members but we definitely need your help to make this happen!  Be sure to join Club 12 by 1) contributing at least $12 or 2) spreading the word about Club 12 to fellow alumni as well as to your own friends and family.  Thank you for your continued support of SBAN!
