Dear SBAN Family,

As the summer season approaches, SB/BT programs across the country are swinging their doors wide open to welcome a new generation of leaders.  Over the next few months, SBAN will be busy connecting alumni not only with one another but with current SB/BT programs that are taking place right now.  We hope that you will be able to take part in these events and activities to support SB/BT Programs and SBAN!

All the Best,

Boston Meet & Greet

It was all love this past Wednesday when Summerbridge and Breakthrough alumni living in the Boston area met at a local coffee shop in Cambridge, Ma. SB Cambridge Program Director Andy Shin, Alumni Coordinator and Program Associate Edwin Johnson, as well as SBAN Executive Director Keno Sadler and SBAN Event Planner Vinita Ahuja were present to discuss the newly founded alumni network and share SB memories with old friends and get to know SB alum from other areas including Atlanta, Washington DC, Manchester, and New Hampshire.  The congregation left on a high note, probably due to a combination of caffeine and excitement about the upcoming summer at the SB Cambridge Program and the blossoming Alumni Network, SBAN.

“It is good to know that our experiences with Summerbridge and Breakthrough don't have to end, and that there is now, through SBAN, a way to maintain those relationships” said one alum.

'RUN FOR EDUCATION' RAISES $10,000 FOR BREAKTHROUGH FORT LAUDERDALE

More than 300 South Floridians, including Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jim Naugle, recently participated in the 1st annual Breakthrough 5K Run for Education. The event raised $10,000, money that will provide scholarships to underserved Broward middle school students enrolled in the summer enrichment program Breakthrough Fort Lauderdale: Students Teaching Students. The fundraiser, which took place at the Coral Ridge Mall in Fort Lauderdale, featured the 5K run, a two-mile walk, and one-mile kid's fun run. Many of the 87 Breakthrough students and their families took part, as did Board members and representatives of Pine Crest School, which hosts the Breakthrough program.

Club 12 Update

Summer is the peak time of activity for SB/BT.  The energy is high as programs are kicking off, filling classrooms with eager students and enthusiastic teachers.  Well, maybe some of the first time teachers are a bit nervous too!

The summer is also a busy time for SBAN and Club 12.  With alumni events and site fundraisers, we are kicking into full gear and we have you to thank for it.  Club 12 is growing everyday, and your support is what makes our success possible.  We hope that you will continue to support SBAN and SB/BT through Club 12 so that this summer and the summers to come are just as successful as the summer you spent with SB/BT!
